Good Morning,
A year a go, just like today, the Israeli aggression "Pillar of the Cloud" was launched against the civilian population of Gaza. A year ago I was sitting in my room, hearing explosions that shook my house and my heart. I was sitting on the same bed where I am sitting right now, though last year I wasn't actually sitting as I was jumping on the ground with every sound of explosion I heard, till I had scratches and bruises in my legs that lasted for months. A year ago I used to stay awake for days to keep the world posted of the Israeli terrorism, and because it was actually kind of impossible to sleep when everything around my house was being bombed. That feeling I had, that faith I was keeping, the incredible strength I showed when I refused to let my family leave the house to go to another safe place, how stubborn I was when I got into my room and locked the door to prevent them from forcing me to leave, so they had to stay too, the nights when I celebrated the rain as if it were the Christmas, because I knew Israeli warplanes couldn't keep roaming and bombing when it was raining... A year ago I wasn't sure I would be alive to post you this today, and today I am not even sure I would be alive to post you tomorrow, but having gone through all these contradictions, I reached a point where I no longer value days and moments, rather, I value memories, good memories of those days I proved I deserved to live here when I thought I was too weak to handle it ...

Wenn du morgen aufstehst, dann erwarte nicht den Abend...
Und wenn du denn Abend erlebst so erwarte nicht den morgen. Du wirst für heute leben, nicht für die Vergangenheit mit ihren schlechten und guten Momenten, und nicht für morgen der bis jetzt nicht gekommen ist. Sondern heute, von den die Sonnenstrahlen dich treffen und von den der vormittags schon anfängt. Dein Alter ist 1 Tag, du lebst für einen Tag.
Deswegen lebe diesen Tag als wärst du heute geboren und als wirst du heute sterben, erst dann klemmt dein Leben nicht zwischen der Mauer der Vergangenheit mit ihre Trauer und Kummer, und zwischen der Hoffnung auf das Kommende. Setzte deine Konzentration heute richtig ein und zeig was du kannst. Denn nur für diesen Tag müsst du dein Gebet mit Chuschue (Demut) verrichten und den Koran richtig rezitieren. Denn nur für heute wirst du ALLAH viel gedenken und gehorchen, denn nur heute musst du deine Aufgabe machen, dein Charakter verbessern, Zufriedenheit zeigen für das was dir zugeteilt wurde, den anderen helfen, sich um dein äußeres kümmern und dein Körper pflegen.
Für diesen Tag teilst du die Stunden auf und machst die Sekunden zu Jahren und die Minuten zu Monaten, uns ernte viel Gutes, revanchiere dich bei den Leuten die zu dir nett waren, bitte ALLAH um Vergebung wegen deine Sünden, Gedenke dein Gott und bereitest dich auf dein Umzug. Auf der Ende der Reise. Lebe die letzten Stunden zufrieden mit deinen Ehepartnern, mit den Risq, mit dein Kinder, mit deinem Beruf, mit deiner Wohnung, mit deiner Stellung.
Du musst auf der Tafel deines Herzens eine wichtigen Satz schreiben, der dann aber auch über dein Schreibtisch hängt, der sagt: DIESER TAG IST DEIN LETZTER TAG!!!
Wenn du heute frische leckere Brötchen isst, wird das harte trockene Brot von gestern oder das unbekannte Brot der für morgen erwartet wird, dir schaden???
Wenn du heute sauberes gutes Wasser trinkst, warum trauerst du wegen den salzigen Wasser von gestern oder das warme Wasser von morgen????
Wenn du mit dir ehrlich bist, so denk immer daran: ICH LEBE NUR DIESEN TAG!
Erst dann wirst du jeden Moment von diesem Tag ausnutzen Ibadah und ALLAHS Gehorsamkeit.
Sag zu dir: nur heute werde ich mein Verhalten ändern und keine schlechte Wörter und Schimpfwörter sagen oder lästern, nur heute werde ich meine Wohnung aufräumen, nur heute werde ich meine Zunge unter Kontrolle halten. Nur heute werde ich leben und ALLAH gehorchen, nur heute werde ich mit Demut beten, nur heute werde ich Koran lesen und versuchen es zu verstehen und nutzen raus zuziehen, nur heute werde ich nach Sunna richtig leben, nur heute werde ich meine Eltern gut behandeln, nur heute werde ich fasten, nur heute werde ich andere helfen, nur heute werde ich einen Kranken besuchen, einen Hungrigen ernähren, einen Irrenden rechtleiten, nur heute werde ich die Schwachen unterstützen, nur heute werde ich den Unschuldigen zur Seite stehen.
Lebe diesen Tag als wäre er dein letzter Tag. Das ist das schönste Satz, was du in den Wörterbuch der Glücklichen je finden kannst.
So verschiebe deine Taten nicht auf morgen oder sogar nächste Woche. Sag nicht: ich fange morgen an richtig zu beten, ich mache nächste Woche Tauba, ich lese nächste Woche Koran. Sag nicht: ich versöhne mich übermorgen mit mein Eltern, ich entschuldige mich morgen bei meine Ehefrau/Ehemann, ich erziehe mein Kind später richtig oder ich bete an nächste Woche Sunna.
Tu es jetzt heute, denn heute ist dein letzter Tag. Woher willst du wissen dass du noch morgen lebst. Denk daran, wenn heute dein letzter Tag im leben ist, was wurdest du machen???? Schnell tauba machen, pünktlich beten, ganz besonders fajr gebet, du wurdest immer im Masjid beten, du wurdest jede Minute sogar Sekunde ALLAH gedenken. Du wurdest mehr Koran lesen als jetzt, und du wurdest mehr Sadaqa machen und vielleicht dein vergessene Zakat nachholen und bezahlen, du wurdest weinend die Hände und die Füße von deine Mutter küssen weil unter ihre Füße das Paradies ist, du wurdest öfter fasten, du wurdest und wurdest…...
So, du hast doch jetzt die Chance, also mach doch was du machen wurdest, in deinen letzten Tag.
Anas ibn ´Ayyad sagte: ich sah Safwan ibn Salim und wenn man ihm gesagt hätte: „Morgen ist Jaum al Gijama (Tag der Auferstehung).“ Wäre er nicht in der Lage gewesen, noch mehr gute Taten zu verrichten.
Warum???
Er hat schon alles gemacht was er machen kann, er hat jeden Tag als den letzten Tag in sein Leben angesehen. Er hat immer daran gedacht: Dieser Tag ist mein letzter Tag.
Subhanallah!
Ya ichwani, vergessen wir nicht, dass wir nur Fremde/Gäste in diese Dunja sind. Und unsere Reise kann jeden Moment enden. Das Leben ist eine Reise, für die wir unser Gepäck vorbereiten müssen. Das Leben ist sehr kurz und geht vorüber, ohne das man es richtig bemerkt, deswegen ist dieser Tag dein letzter Tag.
Daher sagt einer der Dichter:
Nehmt von diesem Leben eurer Vermögen für das Jenseits, denn ihr wisst nicht wenn die Nacht kommt, ob ihr den Morgen erleben werdet. Wie viele junge Männer haben am Tag gelacht, während das Tuch für ihre Beerdigung vorbereitet wurde??? Wie viele Kinder, von denen die Eltern hofften, dass sie alt werden, wurden schon zu dem Gräber geschickt??? Und wie viele Ehefrauen, die sich für ihre Ehemänner geschmückt haben, aber in der Nacht ihrer Hochzeit hat der Tod sie beide genommen???
La haula wa la guwata ila billah.
ALLAH sagt: „Das Leben auf dieser Erde, ist wahrlich nur ein vergänglicher Genuss, und das Jenseits alleine ist wahrlich die dauernd Heimstatt. „ ( 40:39)
Prophet sagt: „ seid in dieser Welt wie ein Fremder oder wie ein Durchreisender.“
Lebe diesen Tag als wäre er dein letzter Tag!
Ich kann aus meine eigne Erfahrung erzählen, dass als ich so gedacht hab, den Tag besser gelebt hab, also ich hab mehr geschafft, weil ich ja immer dachte: ya hafsa das ist dein letzter tag, also versuch so vieles zu schaffen, denk das ist dein letzter tag und morgen wäre yaum al gijama. Und subhanallah, es klappt, alhamdulilah.
Ich bete zu ALLAH (subhanahu wa ta´ala), dass ER diese Arbeit annimmt und mit Baraka erfüllt.
Wenn etwas Gutes an diesen kleinen Vortrag ist, dann kommt dies von ALLAH. Und sollten Fehler hierin sein, dann bitte ich ALLAH um Vergebung, denn auch ich bin nur ein Mensch und begehe Fehler.
Subhanallah wa alhamdulilah wa la ilaha ilalah.

Heute ist der letzte Tag der "Ashura" Tage, "Ashura" nennt man die 10 Tägigen trauerzeit der Shiiten und auch Aleviten, in den 10 Tagen durchläuft man den Leidensweg des Imam Hussein ( as den Enkel des Propheten Mohammed as) und seiner Gefolgsleute die in einer Revolution bestialisch ermordet wurden. Ein Redner erzählt detailliert jeden einzelnen Tag in einer Art Gesang, bis zum letzten Tag an dem Imam Hussein (as) starb.
Diese Prozedur ist keine religiöse Pflicht ( wie viele falsch auffassen ) sondern eine Trauer Prozedur, die im Islam üblich ist, ein Verstorbener erhält pflichtgemäß 3 Tage Trauer und nach 40 Tagen eine erneute Trauerfeier. 1 Jahr später zum Todestag eine ( Sikra / Erinnerung ) und die Schiiten üben diese Trauerfeier jedes Jahr aus! Umstritten ist die selbstgeisselung, die von den meisten nur symbolisch mit einem Rhythmischen brustschlag dargestellt wird ( mach ich auch ) und von einigen wörtlich genommen wird, so das sie sich blutig schlagen ( was ich ablehne )
Diese Tage werden meistens von anschlagsserien heimgesucht, die von Extremisten ausgeführt werden, da sie Schiiten für Kufar ( Ungläubige ) halten !
Trotzdem Pilgern jedes Jahr Millionen durch die Straßen!

Guten morgen Geschwister:
Wenn die Morgendämmerung aufkommt, beginne deinen Tag mit folgenden Worten und sage:
"بِسمِ اللهِ الّذي لا يَضُرُّ معَ اسمِهِ شَىْءٌ في الأرضِ ولا في السّماءِ وهو السميعُ العليمُ"
Umschrift: Bismil-Lâhi l-Ladhî Lâ YaDurru Ma^a Smihî Schay´, Fil-´ArDi Walâ Fi s-Samâ´, Wa Huwa s-Samî^u l-^Alîm.
Sag dieses dreimal morgens und abends, denn es wurde überliefert, dass unser geliebter Prophet ﷺ sagte, dass der Person, die dieses dreimal sagt, durch nichts geschadet wird.
Anschließend sage die Schutzwortlaute (at-TaHsîn) auf, die über den Gesandten Gottes ﷺ überliefert wurden, damit du – so Gott will – vor dem Schaden der Menschen und Djinn geschützt wirst.

By what name do we call God?
The Muslims prefer calling the Supreme Creator, Allah, instead of by the English word 'God'. The Arabic word, 'Allah', is pure and unique, unlike the English word 'God', which can be played around with.
If you add 's' to the word God, it becomes 'Gods', that is the plural of God. Allah is one and singular, there is no plural of Allah. If you add 'dess' to the word God, it becomes 'Goddess' that is a female God. There is nothing like male Allah or female Allah. Allah has no gender. If you add the word 'father' to 'God' it becomes 'God-father'. God-father means someone who is a guardian. There is no word like 'Allah-Abba' or 'Allah-father'. If you add the word 'mother' to 'God', it becomes 'God-mother'. There is nothing like 'Allah-Ammi', or 'Allah-mother' in Islam. Allah is a unique word. If you prefix tin before the word God, it becomes tin-God i.e., fake God. Allah is a unique word, which does not conjure up any mental picture nor can it be played around with. Therefore the Muslims prefer using the Arabic word 'Allah' for the Almighty. Sometimes, however, while speaking to the non-Muslims we may have to use the inappropriate word God, for Allah. Since the intended audience of this article is general in nature, consisting of both Muslims as well as non-Muslims, I have used the word God instead of Allah in several places in this article.
God does not become a human being:
God does not take human form:
Some may argue that God does not become a human being but only takes a human form. If God only takes a human form but does not become a human being, He should not possess any human qualities. We know that all the 'God-men', have human qualities and failings. They have all the human needs such as the need to eat, sleep, etc.
The worship of God in human form is therefore a logical fallacy and should be abhorred in all its forms and manifestations.
That is the reason why the Qur'an speaks against all forms of anthropomorphism. The Glorious Qur'an says in the following verse:
"There is nothing whatever like unto Him." [Al-Qur'an 42:11]

Am Dienstag hatten syrische Kurdenorganisationen die Gründung einer Übergangsregierung im Norden und Nordosten Syriens verkündet, wo Kurden die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung stellen.
„Das sind separatistische Handlungen, die nicht den Bemühungen des syrischen Volkes entsprechen, das die Bildung eines einheitlichen und unabhängigen Staats anstrebt", heißt es in einer Mitteilung der Nationalen Koalition.
Die syrische Exil-Opposition teilt indessen mit, dass die bewaffneten Kurdentruppen die Kampfhandlungen gegen die syrische Regierungsarmee eingestellt und ihre Stellungen in Regionen gefestigt haben, die nicht mehr von den Assad-Kräften kontrolliert werden.

Vielmehr kommen die Angriffe stets im Gewand des Liberalismus und als Verteidigung der Moderne daher.
Es sind Werte einer aufgeklärten, sympathisch pluralistischen Lebensweise, die in Stellung gebracht werden gegen den Islam.

As-salamualeykum liebe Geschwister,
ich hoffe doch,dass mir jemand behilflich sein sein.
Ich hatte die anderen Beiträge nur flüchtig überflogen,deshalb hoffe ich,dass ich nicht einen wiederholten Beitrag verfasse:
Es geht um ein Arabischstudium im Ausland.
Ich möchte gern die arabische Sprache für ca ein Jahr im Ausland studieren.
Beinah hätte es in Ägypten geklappt,bis die Unruhen vor kurzem wieder losgingen und mir viele Brüder abgeraten haben.
Andere Alternativen habe ich jetzt noch Marokko und mauretanien gehört.
Ich wollte fragen,ob mir da jemand behilflich sein könnte,bei eines dieser Länder oder auch andere,ich bin da recht offen, behilflich sein kann an Kontakte und Adressen zu kommen.
Aber bitte nicht verwechseln,es geht um das Erlernen der Sprache in erster Linie,nicht um ein islamisches Religionsstuium.
Also eine Schule oder Institut für arabisch wäre da perfekt.
Kosten für Unterhalt und etc trage ich selber Inshallah.
Ich würde mich über eine Antwort sehr sehr freuen.

Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As berichtete, dass der Gesandte Allahs صلى الله عليه وسلم sagte:
"Wahrlich, Allah nimmt das Wissen nicht indem er es den Dienern einfach entzieht, sondern Er nimmt es, indem er die Gelehrten sterben lässt; und wenn kein Gelehrter mehr geblieben ist, dann werden die Menschen sich Unwissende zu Anführern nehmen, welche sie befragen werden, und diese wiederum werden Fatwa geben ohne Wissen. Seit 1374 Jahren (nach islam. Zeitrechnung), seit dem Tag von Aschura, an dem Imam Husain (a.) sein Martyrium fand, hallen folgende Worte, die er unmittelbar vor seinem Tode sprach, durch die Geschichte der Menschheit bis heute und bis zum Ende aller Zeiten, auf dass deren Botschaft die Herzen der Menschen erreicht:
"An jene von euch, die mich nicht kennen,
wisset,
dass ich der Enkelsohn des heiligen Propheten bin.
Ich bin auf dem Weg der Wahrheit.
Yazid aber verkörpert Falschheit und Korruption.
Er möchte euch vom Islam wegführen.
Folgt ihm nicht!

Die Lage im Irak ist alles andere als stabil. Von Demokratie kann noch nicht gesprochen werden. Der Angriff auf das Land hat mehr Probleme geschaffen als gelöst. Ob durch die geplanten Wahlen im Januar 2005 die Lage stabilisiert werden kann, bleibt abzuwarten.
Einleitung
Nach zwei Golfkriegen und dreißig Jahren Tikriter Familienherrschaft war die Modernität der irakischen Gesellschaft nur mehr in der Erinnerung vorhanden. Der Irak wurde - wie alle anderen Staaten der Region - von einer Welle der Re-Islamisierung erfasst, die Saddam Hussein für sich zu nutzen versuchte. Seine "Pseudo-Islamisierung der Partei" war aus einer Not geboren: Er wollte lieber auf der islamischen Welle reiten, als von ihr hinweggespült zu werden. Während in den kurdischen Autonomiegebieten vom Staat unabhängige politische Parteien existierten, wurde unter Saddams direkter Herrschaft nur den ulema, dem islamischen Klerus, ein gewisses Maß an Unabhängigkeit zugebilligt. Von diesen Veränderungen in der irakischen Gesellschaft drang kaum etwas nach außen. Im Allgemeinen wurde davon ausgegangen, dass "die Schiiten" als stärkste "Bevölkerungsgruppe" die Macht übernehmen und eine Theokratie nach iranischem Muster errichten würden. Die Angst davor war mit einer der Gründe, warum die USA den schiitischen Aufständischen des Jahres 1991 ihre Hilfe verweigerten und einen geschwächten und international isolierten Saddam Hussein in Bagdad akzeptierten. Zur offiziellen Politik wurde ein "Regimewechsel" erst 1998 mit dem "Iraq Liberation Act". Unmittelbar nach dem Ende des zweiten Golfkrieges kooperierte Washington bereits mit der irakischen Opposition.[1] Diese Kooperation wurde nach 1999 neu organisiert.
In den meisten Darstellungen wird darauf verzichtet, den amerikanischen Pragmatismus herauszustreichen, der es den USA ermöglichte, ideologisch unterschiedliche Gruppen lose zu koordinieren. Eine Kooperation mit den kurdischen Nationalisten (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan/PUK und Kurdistan Democratic Party/KDP) ist nachvollziehbar, da diese ihr Überleben letztendlich der amerikanischen Intervention und der Flugverbotszone verdanken. Ebenso plausibel ist die Zusammenarbeit mit irakischen Monarchisten, Ex-Baathis, Ex-Militärs und westlich orientierten Geschäftsleuten wie Ahmad Chalabi. Überraschender war aber die US-Kooperation mit radikalen Islamisten wie zum Beispiel der Islamischen Bewegung Irakisch Kurdistan (IMIK)[2] und den radikalen, iranfreundlichen schiitischen Fundamentalisten des "Hohen Rates der Islamischen Revolution im Irak" (Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq/SCIRI). Letztere hatten nicht nur ihre Basis in Teheran, sondern standen (und stehen) auch noch dem radikalen Flügel der Teheraner Mullahs nahe. Alle Parteien teilten die Erkenntnis, dass es ihnen allein nicht gelingen würde, Saddam Hussein zu stürzen, und dass sie nach dem Sturz Saddams ein gewichtiges Wort mitreden wollten. Mit Ausnahme der Kurden wusste keine der Parteien, wie groß die eigene Anhängerschaft im Land war. Darüber hinaus verfügte niemand - außer den kurdischen Gruppen (KDP, PUK) und der SCIRI - über nennenswerte militärische Kapazitäten. Die meisten der genannten Parteien wurden später von den Amerikanern durch ihre Kooptierung in den Irakischen Regierenden Rat (Iraqi Governing Council/IGC) an der Macht beteiligt. Eine "Fünfergruppe" bestehend aus KDP, PUK, SCIRI, INA (Iraqi National Accord oder Wifaq) und dem Irakischen Nationalkongreß/INC war seither der wichtigste Ansprechpartner für die USA.

Es wird über den Gesandten Gottes MuHammad ﷺ überliefert, dass es empfohlen ist, den 10. Tag von MuHarram zu fasten. Auch zählt es als empfohlen, den 9. Tag von MuHarram zu fasten.
Wenn man den 10. Tag zusammen mit dem 9. Tag nicht gefastet hat, dann ist es empfohlen, den 10. Tag zusammen mit dem 11. Tag zu fasten.
Imâm asch-Schâfi^iyy möge Allâh ihn gnädig sein hat sogar niedergeschrieben, dass das Fasten vom 9., 10. und 11. Tag von MuHarram empfohlen ist.
->So lass dir dieses Gute nicht entgehen und denk daran, dass der Muslim diese Tage ohne große Anstrengung fasten kann. Er verspürt keinen großen Hunger und Durst, da diese Tage kurz und kühl sind.<-
So erinnern wir euch daran, die Absicht zu fassen, den morgigen Tag lil-Lâhi Ta^âlâ zu fasten.
HINWEISS: Plficht geht vor Empfohlenes.
Wer also noch Pfichttage hat, die er nachholen muss, ist verpflichtet diese vor dem freiweiligen Fasten zu verrichten.
Möge Allâh der Erhabene uns im Verrichten des Guten stärken !!

So hat die Idee des Fasten's ihre Methode der Umsetzung.
Die Idee des Gebets seine Methode der Umsetzung.
Der Prophet (s), dient als Vorbild für die Umsetzungen der Ideen. So wird die Idee betrachtet und geschaut wie der Prophet (s) diese Umgesetzt hat.
Die Idee zur Khilafah, die Idee welche die jetzigen Probleme der Ummah von der Wurzel aus lösen wird, hat auch Ihre Methode.
So muss geschaut werden, welche bzw. wie der Prophet (s) die Methode zur Errichtung der Khilafah umgesetzt hat.

Abbas Says Palestinian "Peace Talks" Team Resigns

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday his peace negotiators had resigned over the lack of progress in US-brokeredAbbas statehood talks.
Abbas told Egyptian CBC television that the negotiations would continue even if the Palestinian delegation stuck to its decision.
"Either we can convince it to return, and we're trying with them, or we form a new delegation," he said.
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat did not elaborate on the report of his resignation in a statement to Reuters TV on Wednesday.
He said, however, that the sessions with the Zionist entity were frozen.

Syria Coalition Blasts Kurd Self-Rule as 'Hostile'
Local Editor
The main Syrian opposition alliance dubbed as "hostile" forces Wednesday Kurdish groups that control large swathes of the Syrian Coaltioncountry's north after they proclaimed provisional self-rule.
The Kurds, dominated by the Democratic Union Party (PYD), sister party of veteran Turkish rebel group the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), have held the Afrin region of northwestern Syria and big chunks of the northeast for more than a year.
On Monday, they announced that after talks in Qamishli, on the Turkish border, they had decided to declare provisional self-rule in areas under their control.
Mounting violence between the Kurds and the terrorist groups has sparked a deepening rift between them.
"The PYD is a group hostile to the Syrian revolution," the Saudi-backed National Coalition said in its statement formalizing the breach with the main Kurdish militia.
It accused the main Kurdish faction of "attacking units of the Free Syrian Army and of shirking the struggle against the Syrian government."

Shellfire kills 11 people in Syria
At least 11 people have been killed in Syria by shellfire from foreign-backed militants fighting against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
On Wednesday, a mortar round slammed into a mainly-Christian area of the capital Damascus, killing two people and wounding several others.
Nine other people were killed in a similar attack in the western city of Homs.
Moreover, a mortar attack targeted the al-Hal market in the heart of the capital, wounding several people and causing damage to shops there.
On Tuesday, 16 people were wounded after foreign-backed militants fired mortar shells at residential areas in Damascus.
On Monday, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said a father and his four children were killed after a mortar round struck a residential area in the suburbs of Damascus.
The victims were killed when the mortar fired by the foreign-sponsored militants hit their car in the residential area of Jaramana.
The incident comes two days after a similar attack targeted a residential area in Ashrafiyeh district of Syria's northwestern city of Aleppo, killing at least six children and wounding five others.
Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since 2011. According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies -- especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey -- are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
According to the United Nations, more than 100,000 people have been killed and millions displaced in the violence.

Coordinated bomb blasts kill 23 people in Iraq
A number of coordinated bomb blasts targeting Shia pilgrims in north and west of Baghdad have killed at least 23 people and wounded several others, Iraqi security and medical officials say.
The bombs exploded near the restive central city of Baquba on Wednesday, targeting a procession of Shia worshippers commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), .
The pilgrims had been walking in the direction of the shrine city of Karbala to take part in Ashura – the tenth day of Muharram in Arabic calendar year when Shias mourn for the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS) – commemorations on Thursday.
The annual event marks the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), who was martyred in 680 AD by the armies of the caliph Yazid.
Wednesday's deaths were the latest in Iraq's worst violence since 2008, with more than 5,600 people killed this year despite tightened security measures and a swathe of operations against militants.

Syrian Army Firmly Controls Hijjeira Town in Damascus Countryside
Units of the Syrian armed forces on Wednesday took full control of Hijjeira town in Damascus Countryside after having eliminated the terrorists' last gatherings in the town, according to SANA.
The Syrian army units have destroyed the terrorists' weapons and ammunition and are nowHijjeira hunting down the escaping terrorists on the outskirts of Hijjeira.
A field commander told SANA that the operation lasted for 6 days, adding that the army units discovered several tunnels which were used by terrorists for movement and storing weapons.
He added that the army units arrested scores of Hijjeiraterrorists affiliated to al-Nusra Front and the so-called "al-Islam Brigade", in addition to dismantling several explosive devices planted by terrorists in the town's streets and houses, before they were killed at the hands of the Syrian army.
In a different context, the Syrian army continued military operations in many areas across the country on Wednesday, killing scores of terrorists, destroying their gatherings and hideouts.
